Sapphire Logistics and First Choice Promotions gave back to the community by doing our 67 minutes for Madiba.
As a company, we identified a few diverse causes that we supported in the Madiba spirit.
We donated R2000.00 towards whatever the Rape Crisis Centre needs and raised awareness as well with a group picture and post it on social media, tagging them in the post. In this way, if each one, reaches one, we have spread their cause beyond just this one day.
2. Pinelands SAPS and Kempton Park Metro Police
Over the last few months, Pinelands SAPS has been quite helpful to varying degrees to many of our own staff members. Sapphire Logistics has avoided a corrupt transaction with some clever thinking on the part of two staff members and the quick reaction by the SAPS. For this, we delivered a few sweet treats to both the day and night shift groups, just to say thank you. And so that they know that their tiresome but yet so important jobs are not overlooked.
3. Linawo Childrens Home
Kids and sweets! Need we say more? We delivered cupcakes to the children at the home and spent a little time with them. As a team, we delivered goodies above and beyond what can be consumed. (kiddies clothes, toys, books, stationery and many more that the home may find helpful.)
4. Huis Martina Old Age Home
This is a home for Gogo’s and Mkhulu’s who regularly get spoiled by various benefactors, so we, as a team spoiled the caregivers at the home. We dropped some treats for the staff that they can enjoy throughout the day. We also sponsored R1000.00 towards the upgrade of the staff tea room.
5. Oliver’s House
A children’s home near and dear to some of our Johannesburg team members was the beneficiaries of a cash donation of R1000.00.
6. Little Eden
This home in Johannesburg caters to the needs of children and adults that are intellectually challenged and have been abandoned due to this. We delivered usable toys, books, stationery and anything else the home may need.
7. Blood Donation
With the South African National Blood Service just down the road at the Cape Town office we challenge all staff to form a team that would donate blood regularly. This challenge extends to the Johannesburg team.
